WARSAW – Kosciusko County Fair saw a robust kickoff parade Sunday, July 10, featuring a long line of blaring sirens, antique tractors and candidates running for office.
The parade started at 3:30 p.m. and cruised down Center Street and Bronson before entering through the main gates of the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
Political parties also showed up to tour their candidates in the fall election. Democrats, Republicans and Libertarians all came out in support of their candidates.
Among those were Republican Sheriff’s candidate Jim Smith and James Marshall, who announced his candidacy as an independent candidate for sheriff just a few days ago
Libertarian Party candidate Jeff Mauer, who is running for Indiana Secretary of State, also participated in the parade.
Drake Price, who died last year after a battle with cancer was remembered as the honorary grand marshal.
After the parade, the fairgrounds was flooded with people from the parade checking out the food vendors.
Carnival rides begin Monday, July 11.
Admission is $8 for those 10 to 64. Seniors are $3. Children nine and under get in free.
Monday night’s featured entertainment is the APRA World Championship Rodeo. Admission to the grandstand is free. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
