WARSAW – The Kosciusko Board of REALTORS® (KBOR) is pleased to announce its 2022 Scholarship winners.

From 1993 to date, KBOR has awarded $87,000 in scholarships.

The KBOR scholarship is designed to identify and encourage bright and motivated students in Kosciusko County. In assisting with their educational expenses KBOR hopes to help these students achieve all their continuing education goals.

KBOR received applications from 42 students throughout Kosciusko County and chosen by members of KBOR’s Community Outreach Scholarship Committee.

“The Scholarship Committee was very impressed with the diverse group of quality candidates. Kosciusko county is fortunate to have such outstanding young leaders that are continuing their education. Congratulations to our outstanding Kosciusko County 2022 KBOR Scholarship Winners,” said Angie Jarrett, 2022 KBOR President and member of the Scholarship Committee.

Recipients include:

Thanelie Helser – This is the second year in a row Thanelie has been named a KBOR Scholarship winner. In 2021 she was also the “Spirit of the Heart” award recipient. Thanelie just completed her freshman year at Indiana University South Bend and was named to the Dean’s List. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing with the aspiration to eventually pursue a doctorate as a Nurse Practitioner.

Neovi Karakatsanis – Chancellor’s Professor, Indiana University South Bend, shared with the Scholarship Committee, “Thanelie is without a doubt one of the top students on our campus. In addition to her stellar academic record, Thanelie was also very engaged in service in the local community. Thanelie is hardworking, intelligent, and has a giving heart.”

Thanelie is the daughter of Ryan and Veronica Helser of Warsaw.

Arrington Krull – After her graduation from Wawasee High School this spring, Arrington, will be attending Purdue University this fall. Her goal is to work towards an International AG Business degree and come back to Kosciusko County to be a seventh-generation farmer. Pastor Frank Ramirez of the Union Center Church of the Brethren shared, “Arrington has a commitment to farm and land. She has the practical, no-nonsense realism of someone who has grown up doing farm chores not out of a sense of duty, but because this is where she belongs, and she is part of something greater than herself.”
In addition, John Snyder, Assistant Principal, Wawasee High School commented, “Throughout her career at Wawasee, Arrington has displayed servant leadership and a desire to have a positive influence on those around her that is uncommon among her peers. In our FFA programs, she has been a leader and officer at local and state levels.”

Arrington is the daughter of Shawn and Lissa Krull of Milford.

Cameron Kryder – Cameron is a 2022 Wawasee High School graduate, with a 4.0 GPA.
In addition to her monetary scholarship, Cameron is the 6th Annual Winner of “The Spirit of the Heart” Award.

This award honors REALTOR professionals who we have lost that touched their community throughout their lives.

KBOR hopes to pass on their spirit of mission and purpose each year with this special award. As a three-time state qualifier, finalist and All-Conference swimmer, Cameron volunteered as the Wawasee Middle School swim coach and instructor. She will be pursuing a degree in Elementary Education at Florida Gulf Coast University and hopes to return to her community to teach. Per Cameron, “My Mom has been an educator for over 20 years and has given me an inside look on education. She has inspired me to become a teacher.”

Cameron is the daughter of the late Andy Kryder and Colleen Kryder, Leesburg.
