Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2441 W. 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Ivan Ocotl, 47, West 250S 133, Warsaw. Ocotl hit a parked vehicle and then left the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
- 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, South Main Street, south of West Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Drivers: Brenna K. Fitzpatrick, 35, Sharon Street, Warsaw; and Carrie L. Kyle, 38, Roxbury Park, Goshen. Fitzpatrick was turning left onto SR 15 in Leesburg when she hit Kyle’s vehicle. Fitzpatrick was unsure of her injuries and was checked by medics at the scene for precautionary reasons. Kyle had minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:26 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, East Old Road 30, west of North CR 600E, Warsaw. Driver: Richard E. Rush, 56, EMS B33 Lane, Warsaw. Rush was traveling west on East Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 4:26 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, North SR 13, south of East CR 400N, Leesburg. Driver: Ian T. Crews, 35, South Blaine Street, North Webster. Crews was traveling north on North SR 13 when his vehicle left the roadway. He was attempting to pass a vehicle that was making a left turn. His vehicle went down an embankment and into a ditch, overturning onto its passenger side. The front cab compartment of Crews’ vehicle then caught fire. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:22 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, South Huntington Street, south of Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Nicole R. Rodriguez, 36, East Sunset Drive, Syracuse; and Eric C. Suchecki, 52, Country Club Way, Kingston, Mass. Rodriguez was traveling south on the access road on the east side of South Huntington Street when she stopped at an intersection and later continued south. She hit Suchecki’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 9:06 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Pia Rabitsch, 20, East Autumn Trail, Warsaw. Rabitsch was traveling west in a parking lot when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 1695 W. Lake St., Warsaw. Driver: unknown. An unknown driver backed into a parked, unoccupied vehicle and left the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
- 8:38 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, North Parker Street, east of US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Selah R. Lewis, 16, Crescent Drive, Warsaw; and Angel M. Tovar, 17, West CR 300N, Warsaw. Lewis was traveling north on Parker Street and was making a left turn onto US 30 when she hit Tovar’s vehicle head-on. Damage up to $5,000.
