Benjamin Stone Wins Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Triathlon

WINONA LAKE — Hundreds gathered in Winona Lake for the 29th annual Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Sprint Triathlon on Saturday, June 25.
The weather was cloudy but cool and dry near the lake while contestants swam, biked and ran their way to the finish line.
Benjamin Stone, 26, Indianapolis, was the winner of this year’s triathlon, coming in with a 57:22 finish. Stone won the 26th Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Triathlon in 2019, breaking his record from that event by 1 minute and 6 seconds. Second was Greyson Barringer, 27, Fort Wayne, with a 1:02:21 finish. Third place went to Timothy Murray, 36, Goshen, with a time of 1:04:39.
Overall, in the women’s category for the triathlon, Sara Randolph, 46, California, finished first with a time of 1:08:54. Randolph finished 10th in the overall triathlon. Anna Bearss, 27, Akron, placed second with a 1:10:22 finish. Helen Randolph, 15, Plain City, Ohio, placed third with a time of 1:16.16.
This year’s awards for overall winners were boogie/wake boards designed and made by students at the Warsaw Community High School Career Center.
All proceeds from the race benefit youth outreach programs within Kosciusko County.
