Staff Report
WARSAW — Two women from Warsaw were arrested after an alleged domestic incident.
Aretha Nicole Johnson, 42; and Adriana Stephanie Johnson, 45, both of 602 W. Winona Ave. Apartment 2, Warsaw, are each charged with domestic battery with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor.
On June 2, a Warsaw Police officer responded to a battery report. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer saw two women, later identified as Aretha and Adriana, yelling at each other in a front lawn.
According to court documents, Adriana began walking toward the officer with blood on her nose. Aretha said that Adriana had fallen down the stairs.
Aretha told the officer she and Adriana were in an argument and that Adriana fell when she went to leave. Adriana also allegedly punched Aretha in the face. Adriana said that when she was leaving, Aretha grabbed her hair and pulled it. Adriana then began pulling away and swinging at Aretha.
Aretha had small marks on her left cheek and Adriana had a small scratch on her nose and left cheek. Due to both Aretha and Adriana having injuries, they were both arrested. A child also witnessed the battery occur.
The child said they saw Adriana hit Aretha in the face once and multiple times in the arm.
The Johnsons have both already been arrested and released on their own recognizances.
