Three Injured In Fulton County Crash
ROCHESTER – Three people were injured in a traffic accident Saturday night, June 18, in Fulton County.
Deputies with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Lutheran EMS, Rochester Fire, Lutheran Air and Parkview Samaritan responded to the intersection of CR 100N and CR 200W for an accident resulting in personal injury. The accident occurred at 8:23 p.m. Sunday, June 19.
Police found a Dodge pickup overturned in a field and a Nissan passenger car with significant damage off the roadway in the grass.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Austin Mollett, 26, of rural Rochester, with passenger, Danny Cook, 23, of Rochester, had been driving a 2004 Nissan Altima south on CR 200W. Peter Karas, 53, of Rochester, had been driving a 2021 Dodge Ram westbound on CR 100N when they collided at the intersection.
Both Mollett and Cook were taken by medical helicopter to Fort Wayne.
Karas was taken by ambulance to South Bend for medical care.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries resulting from the accident, an Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction team was requested to assist and ultimately take over the investigation.
This is an ongoing investigation by the Indiana State Police.
