Woman With Kids In Vehicle Arrested For DUI

ETNA GREEN — A Warsaw woman was recently arrested after driving under the influence while two children were in the vehicle.
Blanca Marisela Llamas, 37, 3762 W. Old Road 30 Lot 87, Warsaw, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a minor passenger in the vehicle, a level 6 felony; and operating a vehicle while having never received a license, a class C misdemeanor.
On June 7, a Nappanee Police officer was in the area of CR 1350N and SR 19, Etna Green, when he saw a vehicle traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. The officer pulled the vehicle over.
According to court documents, upon approaching the vehicle, the officer noticed two children in the back seat that were unsecured in child safety seats or seat belts. The officer also noticed the driver, identified as Llamas, appeared to show signs of intoxication.
A chemical test showed Llamas had an alcohol concentration equivalent to 0.111 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath.
An Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles inquiry showed that Llamas has never received a driver’s license. She was previously convicted of operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license in Elkhart County in July 2021.
For this case, Llamas was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on June 8, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
