Habitat For Humanity Women Build Is Coming to Warsaw
News Release
WARSAW — Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build program is coming to Kosciusko County this summer.
This is a time for women to come together, volunteer on the build site and support other women who are going through the Habitat homeownership program.
“A fair amount of our families are single mothers, grandmothers or working mothers who go the extra mile to support their family,” says Ben Logan, the executive director. “They applied for Habitat’s program to add stability into their family’s life, and it is amazing to see the women in this community support them through the process.”
From June 21 to June 25, teams of women will occupy the current Habitat build site in Warsaw. Habitat has also gained support from local businesses that have chosen to sponsor this event, such as Lake City Bank.
“We rely on the strength of women, who make up nearly 73 percent of our Lake City Bank team members, and we are proud to be part of Habitat for Humanity of Kosciusko County’s Women Build event,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Kristin L. Pruitt.
Slots have filled up fast, although there is still room for ten individuals looking to participate. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 25. Women interested in participating should contact the Habitat office at (574) 269-4104. Registration is $25 per person.
Anyone looking to throw in their financial support for this build should visit Habitat’s website, kosciuskohabitat.org/give. One hundred percent of all gifts will go toward the current build in Warsaw.
