SYRACUSE — Due to the excessive heat warning today and tomorrow, along with a large number of residents without power from Monday night’s storm, a cooling center has opened in Syracuse.

The cooling center is now open at the Syracuse Community Center, North Long Drive. The center is open until 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 14; and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday June 15.

An additional site is being sought for the evening hours.
