Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 4:49 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, West Old Road 30, east of North CR 350W, Warsaw. Driver: David R. Bauer, 42, South CR 100E, Claypool. Bauer was traveling west on West Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 11:02 p.m. Monday, June 6, South CR 600W, north of West Red Bird Lane, Mentone. Driver: Jacob R. Barger, 22, West Pleasant Street, Churubusco. Barger was traveling north on South CR 600W when his vehicle left the roadway, hitting a tree stump and shrub. Barger complained of an abrasion on his left forearm but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 4:21 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, East Medusa Street, east of North Front Street, Syracuse. Driver: Judith A. Snobarger, 65, Bluff Drive, Goshen. Snobarger was traveling east on Medusa Street when her vehicle left the roadway, hitting several posts. Damage up to $2,500.
Silver Lake
Officers with the Silver Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 10:22 p.m. Friday, June 3, South SR 15, north of West Hill lake Road, Silver Lake. Drivers: Jaimie M. Archer, 52, East Market Street, Warsaw; and Ryan M. McLaughlin, 25, South South Hill Drive, Silver Lake. Archer was traveling south on South SR 15 and was attempting to turn west on Hill Lake Road when she was rear-ended by McLaughlin’s vehicle. Archer complained of wrist and chest pain. A passenger in McLaughlin’s vehicle, Deja R. Fear, 23, Silver Lake, complained of leg pain. Damage up to $50,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:39 p.m. Monday, June 6, West Lake Street, near Meadow Lark Boulevard, Warsaw. Drivers: James K. Ingram, 60, Sue Avenue, Warsaw; and Lauren C. Teter, 25, North Sand Dollar Drive Apartment D., Warsaw. Ingram was traveling west in the center turning lane of West Lake Street on a moped when he turned left to complete a U-turn. He was then rear-ended by Teter’s vehicle. Ingram sustained minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
Elkhart County
Officers with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 12:09 p.m. Monday, June 6, SR 12 and CR 12. Drivers: Donelda Hayes, 80, Middlebury; and Christopher Fleming, 29, Nappanee. Hayes was cited for bodily injury, failure to yield the right-of-way, and having expired plates. One of Fleming’s passengers was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:20 a.m. Monday, June 6, North SR 17 and West CR 400N, Rochester. Driver: Robert D. Davis, 52, Knox, hit a deer.
- 3:08 p.m. Saturday, June 4, Old US 31 and East CR 450N, Rochester. Drivers: Timothy J. Buell, 55, Elkhart; and Kent E. Carpenter, 53, Rochester.
- 10:42 a.m. Friday, June 3, 1500 block of East Lucas Street. Driver: Logan K. Anderson, 21, Claypool, collied with a semi.
- 9:52 a.m. Friday, June 3, US 31 and SR 25. Driver: Carrol S. Barts, 91, Rochester, hit a sign after a semi swerved into her lane.
- 2:55 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2000 block of Sweetgum Road, Rochester. Driver: Perry A. Burnworth, 21, Danville, hit a stop arm.
