Wawasee High School Welcomes 199 New Graduates

SYRACUSE — In its traditional cap-and-gown ceremony held Sunday afternoon in the Hardwood Teepee on the campus of Wawasee High School, nearly 200 young men and women officially earned the title of high school graduate.
Student speakers during the school’s 54th commencement exercises included Valedictorian Taylor Cripe and Salutatorian Kennedi Adkins.
Also addressing the packed gymnasium were Wawasee Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Steve Troyer and Wawasee High School Principal Geoff Walmer. Both men provided their own words of wisdom to the 199 graduating students, noting the unprecedented events that marked their past three years of high school.
Presenting diplomas to the new graduates were Walmer and teacher Jeff Phillips.
Music was provided by the Wawasee Choir with processional and recessional music performed by Jordan Fredericks.
