Charles ‘Gail’ Freel
Charles “Gail” Freel, 74, North Webster, passed away at 9:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on March 27, 1948, in Huntington to Charles and Rosemary (Huston) Freel.
Gail grew up in Huntington with six brothers and sisters before moving to Cromwell in 1965. He married Debi Miller in 1976. Gail and Debi moved to North Webster in 1976 where they continued to reside.
Gail worked at Superior Enterprises, Fort Wayne, for 20 years before retiring in March 2016. He also worked at Indiana Truss, North Webster, for many years.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He was a fun-loving storyteller who was deeply loved by his friends and family. He enjoyed being outdoors. His favorite hobbies were gardening, fishing, camping, mushroom hunting and horseback riding.
Gail is survived by his wife, Debi Freel, North Webster; son John (Glenda) Freel, Milford; daughter Staci (Wade) Wylie, Kent City, Mich.; four grandchildren, Tarra Freel, Chase Freel, Dylan Wylie and Evan Wylie; brothers Carl Freel and Tom (Judy) Freel; sisters Jodi Freel and Pat (Doyle) Bowers; and sister-in-law Judy Freel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim (Joan) Freel and Ron Freel; and sister-in-law Sue Freel.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. In keeping with his wishes, no formal service will be held. A celebration of life may be held at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, is in charge of the arrangements.
