Delta Theta Tau Elects New Officers
News Release
WARSAW – New officers were elected and decisions about donations were made at the Beta Zeta Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority’s May 18 meeting. Brenda Arnold hosted the event.
The annual geranium sales successfully raised funds for the sorority’s philanthropic donations. The sisters voted to donate $500 to Healthy Families, a voluntary home visitation program designed to promote families and children through a variety of services. They decided to give $500 to The Magical Meadows, which provides therapeutic horseback riding for children, youth and adults. They also agreed to donate $1,000 to Joe Kids, which provides physical, occupational and speech therapy services for children with special needs or developmental delays.
One of the organization’s members, Donita Secrist, recently passed, and she left lots of material from her sewing passions. The sisters chose to donate the material and a large amount of thread to Sew Special Network Association. SSNA volunteers make all kinds of baby, children and adult handmade items that are distributed free of charge to local agencies. Beta Zeta chapter has been sewing for SSNA and delivering completed items to local agencies.
Their next meeting will be Wednesday, June 1. Marcia Randolph will be hosting, and there will be a light dinner before. Anyone interested in joining our philanthropic organization can contact Randolph at (574) 527-1612.
