Kosciusko 4-H Livestock Judging Team Places Third At State

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — The Kosciusko County 4-H Livestock Judging Team placed third at the state contest on Saturday, May 14.
The event was at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds in Lafayette.
The team had to place 12 classes of cattle, sheep, swine and goats and then give six sets of oral reasons to officials on their placings. With the team placing third, they have earned a trip to Kansas City, Mo., to compete in the American Royal National Contest next October.
The team is made up Mallory Bowers, Caleb Lechlitner, Landon Bewley and Haley Nelson.
Bowers was fifth high in sheep and goats, seventh high in cattle, ninth in reasons and 11th overall. She also made the All-State Team. Lechlitner also made the All-State Team and was 15th overall. Bewley was 21st , and Nelson was 51st.
Kade Jones and McKinley Burton also competed in the questions division where Jones was 26th out of 175 participants.
Teams are coached by Kraig Bowers and Michael Jones.
