Douglas W. “Frenchie” Pifer
Douglas W. “Frenchie” Pifer, 74, Warsaw, died Friday, May 6, 2022.
He was born in Warsaw on July 7, 1947, the son of (the late) Wayne and L. Maxine (Pinkerton) Pifer. He graduated from Warsaw Community High School with the Class of ’65 and was a lifelong Warsaw resident. He retired from R. R. Donnelley & Sons in 2006 after 40 years with the company. He was an avid golfer and longtime member of Rozella Ford Golf Club. Known for his wonderful sense of humor and his devotion to family and friends, he also enjoyed cooking, especially hosting Thanksgiving and other holiday family gatherings.
In addition to his parents, Doug was also preceded in death by a daughter: Angela Marshall.
He is survived by daughters: Kelly (John Culbertson) Neeley, Warsaw; and Abigail “Abbie” Pifer, Winona Lake; sister: Carolyn (Mike) Lutes, Warsaw; brother: Steven (Lois) Pifer, Jefferson, Ga.; grandchildren: Natasha (Cody) Stevens, Warsaw; Tyler Neeley, Silver Lake; Ashley Neeley, Kendallville; Zakkary Pifer, Constantine, Mich.; Miguel Castro, Warsaw; and Keegan Lenfesty, Warsaw; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
