WARSAW — Those playing the course at Rozella Ford Golf Club and lovers of Mexican food alike will enjoy the club’s new restaurant Empireo.
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce celebrated the restaurant, which is located at 1700 Rozella Road, Warsaw, with a ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, May 3.
The restaurant, which has been open for three months, is a family affair, owned by mother and son duo Mariela Munoz and Luis Munoz. Mariela worked at the prior two restaurants at the golf course, said Luis.
He said that he was eager to be involved in the restaurant as food is a passion of his, with his having studied culinary arts.
Customers can find a variety of Mexican cuisine, including tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas and nachos. Luis said the restaurant has a Taco Tuesday special.
“We do fajita bars, taco bars, usually for big groups,” he added. A popular item is Empireo’s margaritas, he said. The large size for those is 32 ounces.
The restaurant’s name means “out of this world” in Spanish, said Luis. He noted the name was picked in part due to “it sound(ing) a little classy.”
People may stop by the restaurant from Tuesday-Sunday. It is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
“I want them to enjoy the food and the environment,” he said of what he hoped people enjoyed from eating and drinking there.
