Arlene Foster
Arlene Foster, 90, Warsaw, died surrounded by her family at 5:33 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2022, at her residence.
Arlene was born July 4, 1931, in Roseland, Ill. to the late Arlie Able and Minnie (Roloff) Hartman.
She married Clarence O. Foster, Jr. May 21, 1955, in Dolton, Ill.; he preceded her in death Aug. 15, 1995.
Arlene was a baker. She worked for her father’s bakery and later retired from Owen’s Supermarket where she worked in the bakery for over 20 years. She enjoyed all kinds of baking. She spent many hours with her grandchildren baking cookies and decorating cakes. In earlier years, she played Bunco with the neighborhood women. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling on girls trips, especially to Metamora. She could be found many days watching old movies, listening to Perry Como and Johnny Mathis as well as watching Fox News.
She is survived by her children; Gregg (Karen) Foster, Mentone, Vicki (Marvin) McClone, Burket, Brian (Jackie) Foster, Warsaw; Julie (Mike) Clark, Clarksville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and sister Glenda Kreft, Okla.
Arlene was preceded by her husband Jr., brothers Gerald and James Hartman, an infant sister and a great-grandson Lee Howard.
The funeral service will take place at 1 pm, Monday, May 9, 2022, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. The interment will take place following the funeral service in the Tippecanoe Cemetery, Tippecanoe. Visitation hours will take place 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2022.
