Dear Editor,

If this election season has revealed anything, it is that there are significant challenges facing law enforcement both across the country and here in our Kosciusko County. This is especially true in the county jail, where vandalism and drug dealing are on the rise.  I believe that Jim Smith, who is a man of honesty and integrity, is the man to take on these challenges.

Jim Smith is the conservative, law-and-order candidate for sheriff. He does not accept that inmate wreckage and drug overdoses in the jail will be a permanent fact of life.  He has made restoring order in the jail a centerpiece of his campaign.  He has listened to the county employees who are sounding the alarm about the rise in destruction to county property, and he has put together a plan to reduce and work towards eliminating the problem.

Jim Smith has the background and the experience to take charge of the situation and make sure that the inmates will be held accountable and not be able to continue on running the show. Vote for law and order. Vote Jim Smith on May 3.
