US 30 Construction And The Future
Dear Editor:
I just have to say to everyone that if you are not happy with all the construction on US 30 and long waiting lines, this is just a slight glance into the future, if and when they ever make US 30 a freeway or limited access highway.

All the congestion forming on county roads and city streets and highways by our local people trying to get from point A to point B in and around the area will be a permanent problem when and if INDOT decides to close off the accesses on and off of US 30.
The time to speak up is now; I do not believe that most of the area people want US 30 limited.
The county commissioners are busy trying to figure out the only three or so points of entry and exit from the highway into Warsaw and only one entrance and exit from the east side of Warsaw to the east county line, that being SR 13 at Pierceton.
For anyone thinking this is the answer, you are selling out the main artery and vein of travel through our county that most of the business has built up around, and you want to shut that all off and make local people go miles out of their way to get a gallon of milk and a bucket of paint.
The benefit would not be for the local area any longer, but the benefit would be for the travelers flying through here going 70-plus miles per hour that will never stop and give one dime of support for any Kosciusko County businesses.
Let the commissioners know and contact INDOT and let them know that we wish for safety measures to be implemented on US 30, but we do not want it made into a freeway and we do not want a limited access highway. Speak up and continue to speak up before you are sitting at block-long traffic jams in Warsaw just to get your milk and paint.
It is said that they will listen up to a point on the local impact this will have and shutting down access to US 30 will be a local disaster.
