TVSC Board Opts To Not Renew Patrick’s Contract
Staff Report
AKRON — The Tippecanoe Valley School Board has opted not to renew Tippecanoe Valley High School varsity boys basketball coach Chad Patrick’s contract.
The board approved the non-renewal at its regular meeting on Monday, April 18, at Mentone Elementary School. No comments were made regarding the decision during the meeting, but TVSC Superintendent Blaine Conley handed InkFreeNews the following statement after the meeting.
“Acting upon the recommendation of Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation (TVSC) Superintendent Blaine Conley, the TVSC Board of School Trustees voted 5-0 for non-renewal of the TVHS Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach contract for the 2022-2023 season at the regular board meeting held on Monday, April 18, 2022. The program had compiled a 50-68 overall record (21-25 in the Three Rivers Conference) over the past five seasons.”
“TVSC cites long-term vision, program building and success of our student-athletes as priorities moving forward. The position is currently posted on the school corporation’s website.”
Patrick was hired to take over the program following his father, longtime basketball coach, Bill Patrick’s retirement.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the board renewed the contracts of TVHS varsity football coach Steve Moriarty, varsity volleyball coach Ashley Derf and varsity girls basketball coach Chris Kindig. It also hired Trevor Brown as TVHS boys soccer coach.
Brown formerly coached at Rochester Community High School.
