ELKHART COUNTY — A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a South Bend infant.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the disappearance of Messiah Morales, a 5-month-old black male.

Messiah is 24 inches long, weighs 30 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Messiah was last seen in the company of his mother, Alexis Morales. Morales is a 27-year-old black female. She is 5 feet, 6 inches, weighs 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

The two were last seen in a Silver 2006 BMW X5 SUV with Indiana license plate MULALUV.
