CLAYPOOL — Four cats and a dog were lost in a house fire Wednesday night, April 6, at 6614 W. Grimme Lane, Claypool, near Yellow Creek Lake. Seward Township/Burket Fire Department was notified of the fire at 11:03 p.m.

The female occupant of the home reported a room was on fire with smoke and visible flames. The first arriving unit found a working house fire with smoke coming from the eaves around the house.

Firefighters made an interior attack of the fire and brought the fire under control in 10 minutes.

Damage has been estimated up to $40,000.

According to the county GIS mapping system the one-story home is owned by Isaac Dachenhaus.
