LARWILL — Thirteen Whitko Career Academy students have earned their welding certification.
Students took the American Welding Society Welder Certification Test on Saturday, March 27. Passing students earned a worldwide recognized certification in either the Gas Metal Arc Welding process or the Shielded Metal Arc Welding process.
The testing consisted of an American Welding Society D-1 or D-9 Work Procedure Sheet. Each student prepared and produced the required test specimens. The specimens then had to pass a visual inspection and a bend test.
The testing was overseen and directed by an AWS certified welding inspector at the academy.
The Whitko students passing the D-9 certification test were: Jesse Elder, John Osterman, Caiden Sattison, Grayson Ulshafer and Jaxon Hollenbaugh.
The students passing the D-1 visual certification and awaiting the bend test results are: Robert Carpenter, Ethan Cassidy, Hunter Hendrickson, Grayson Lysaught, Andrue Rider, Korben Ruckman, Sean Walls and Jacob Westerberg.
