Staff Report
WINONA LAKE — A Winona Lake woman was recently arrested after allegedly biting a pregnant woman’s arm.
Terry Lynn Beck, 53, 1202 Wooster Road Lot 9, Winona Lake, is charged with battery resulting in bodily injury to a pregnant woman, a level 5 felony; criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon, a level 6 felony; and battery resulting in bodily injury, a class A misdemeanor.
On March 28, a Winona Lake Police officer responded to a residence regarding a domestic dispute. A man at the scene said Beck was wielding a knife. He and two other people struggled with Beck to take the knife out of her hands. The man told officers he held Beck down to keep her from using the knife.
One of the women who helped take the knife away from Beck said she grabbed Beck’s arm. According to court documents, the woman said Beck bit her arm and kicked her in the stomach. The officer noticed a visible bite mark on the woman’s right arm. The woman also told the officer she was pregnant and that Beck was aware of the pregnancy.
Beck told the officer the woman had twisted her arm, causing pain and bruising. She admitted to holding a knife but said she was using it to cut items in her bedroom. Beck also admitted that the pregnant woman was attempting to get the knife away from her when she bit her.
Beck was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on March 28, with an $11,000 surety and cash bond.
