NAPPANEE — A Warsaw woman was flown from a three-vehicle, rear-end accident in Nappanee on Monday, March 28.
At 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a three-vehicle accident on North SR 19, south of West CR 1350N in Nappanee.
Ernesto Purata-Arroyo, 31, North Oakwood Drive, Warsaw, was driving a maroon 2014 Ram 1500 south on North SR 19. Purata-Arroyo did not see a blue 2018 Ford Escape slowing for traffic. The Ford Escape was driven by Michael D. Kuhn, 50, East Main Street, Mentone. Purata-Arroyo’s vehicle rear-ended Kuhn’s vehicle. This caused Kuhn’s vehicle to rear-end a black 2017 GMC Acadia driven by Cathy S. Moody, 69, North CR 300W, Milford.
A passenger in Kuhn’s vehicle, Michele S. Kuhn, 50, South Caleb Court, Warsaw, complained of head pain and was trapped in the vehicle. Michele was flown from the scene to a South Bend hospital.
Purata-Arroyo, Michael Kuhn, and Moody were uninjured. Purata-Arroyo and Michael Kuhn’s vehicles were towed from the scene. An Indiana Department of Transportation guardrail on the west side of North SR 19 was damaged in the accident.
Damages are estimated up to $50,000.
