CARMEL — Indiana Wesleyan University junior Donovan Edwards, Goshen, was awarded a scholarship by the Indiana Broadcasters Association Foundation as part of their 2022 College Scholarship Program, Saturday, March 26. The event award luncheon took place at the 502 E. Event Centre, Carmel.

The Indiana Broadcasters Association selected Edwards to receive a $5,000 scholarship to further his education in broadcasting. Edwards is completing his junior year at Indiana Wesleyan University, where he studies media communications with an emphasis on sports broadcasting. While at IWU, Edwards started a basketball halftime interview show called “On The Court With Donovan Edwards” and currently hosts a weekly sports wrap-up and interview podcast named “Wildcat Week.” Edwards is an accomplished play-by-play announcer of IWU Men’s and Women’s basketball, Men’s and Women’s soccer, plus baseball and softball. Edwards has also been a sideline reporter for IWU football and local Marion high school football games.

Upon winning the award, Edwards said, “This award will be a major part of my evolving broadcasting story. It will help fuel my ambitions as I aspire to be a professional sports broadcaster”.
