Dometic In Elkhart Announced 159 Layoffs

ELKHART – Dometic Corporation of Elkhart has announced plans to lay off 159 workers.
The company informed the state of the move as part of the Indiana WARN program.
Dometic makes air-conditioning and warm air heating equipment, and commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment.
In a letter to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, Plant Manager Andy Rickly said Dometic Corporation’s decision to move certain portions of its production activities will affect 159 positions at the facility on Industrial Parkway, Elkhart.
This layoff includes all manufacturing personnel, both hourly and salary, as well as Industrial Parkway support personnel including Human Resources, Sustaining Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Planning, and Maintenance.
This does not affect employees located at Dometic’s Industrial Parkway facility who are in the Customer Experience, Warranty, Information Technology, Tech Services, Returned Material or EH&S departments, the letter said.
The layoffs will begin in May and conclude within weeks, the letter said.
