North Webster Joins Statewide Consortium To Share Items
News Release
NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Community Public Library has joined nearly 200 public libraries in Indiana to share a new statewide consortium of e-books, audio books and magazines. Benefitting libraries, tax payers and library users, this new consortium, Indiana Digital Library, allows patrons to borrow materials from their home library’s collection as well as from member libraries. Indiana State Library pays the platform fees for the consortium allowing member libraries to focus funds on their own collections.
To access materials available through the consortium, patrons can use the Overdrive or Libby app depending on their mobile device. The library staff is available for patrons who need help accessing Indiana Digital Library.
The library has a new website that sports a fresh clean design and user-friendly features. Visit nwcpl.org for information on library services, programs and events and to access the library’s online catalog and databases.
In the Adult Services Department, Let’s Move dance fitness class will continue 6 p.m. every Thursday under the leadership of Janette Stackhouse. The class uses dance as a form of exercise as the group follows along to videos. They dance to a variety of music while learning new dance moves and getting a great cardio workout. The class is free and open to adults of all ages and fitness levels.
The Adult Craft Class will continue with instructor Molly Barth at 2 p.m. the second Tuesday each month. The class creates a different craft each month. It is free, but pre-registration is required with limited enrollment.
If you need a quiet place to study or a private meeting area, the library has private study rooms that can be used on a first come, first serve basis or reserved in advance. The rooms can accommodate up to five people and are furnished with table, chairs, electrical outlets and internet connection. To reserve a study room, contact the circulation desk at (574) 834-7122.
