News Release
WARSAW — A Kosciusko County Jail inmate was treated following an apparent drug overdose early Saturday morning, March 12.
A news release from Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, March 14, said jail officers were alerted to the unresponsive individual shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday. In addition to first aid procedures, naloxone was immediately administered by the staff. The inmate regained consciousness and was taken to an area hospital, where he was evaluated and returned to incarceration.
The name of the inmate was not released.
Emergency crews were also at the jail Thursday evening, March 10, for an inmate with an unknown medical emergency. As a precautionary measure, naloxone was administered; however, the inmate does suffer from a pre-existing medical condition. The inmate was taken to an area hospital where he refused medical treatment.
An extensive jail search, including the use of a canine, was conducted throughout the weekend. NET43 is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Sheriff Kyle Dukes would like to commend the corrections staff for their immediate reaction and steadfast dedication.
