Sidney Fire Department Gets Donation Toward New Equipment
News Release
SIDNEY — GFL Environmental, Hoosier Landfill, recently presented Sidney-Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department with a monetary donation. The company was generous and stepped up to help the fire department keep the community safer with their monetary donation to help with the purchase of new radio equipment for the department.
“We are a small volunteer fire department with 20 volunteers who willingly donate our time and energy to serve and protect the residents in our responding area,” said Fire Chief Kevin Wagoner.
Kosciusko County is building a new communication system for emergency services. “There are going to be expenses for new equipment for us to utilize this new system that we do not have enough funding for, due to our small tax base,” Wagoner added.
“We would like to thank Hoosier Landfill for helping contribute to the fire department. We continue to look and strive for ways to better serve our community. Every little bit helps and we appreciate their financial support to help with this project.”
