WARSAW — The owner of a new business specializing in mobile storage units won approval for two requests from the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals.
The company, Mobile Storage Near Me, will be located along US 30 on the eastern edge of the city limits and south of Corridor Drive.
The owner, Adam Custer, sought and received approval for a sign that is larger than normally approved by the city.
Custer was joined at the meeting on Monday, Feb. 28, by his father, Dale Custer, who owns Superior Developing LLC.
The petitioner pointed out that other companies have similarly large signs along US 30.
The sign will be about half the size of a billboard – 340 square feet and 24 feet in height.
The board also approved a variance to allow automobile and construction equipment sales in an I-2 zoning district in the same location.
The company also questioned whether each of the storage units can have a small sign, which they said is common in the business.
Since that issue was not part of Monday’s request, the board took no action in that regard.
Since mobile storage units are not considered a permanent structure, city code limits signs to be temporary for up to 180 days.
