Warsaw Man Arrested In Domestic Incident

WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after he was captured on video battering a woman.
Christian Michael Freeze, 23, 221 N. Columbia St. Apartment B., Warsaw, is charged with domestic battery with moderate bodily injury and two counts of domestic battery with prior convictions, all level 6 felonies; and two counts of domestic battery, both class A misdemeanors.
On Jan. 25, Warsaw Police officers met with a woman who said Freeze physically abused her.
According to court documents, the woman told officers she and Freeze were arguing when Freeze became angry and pushed her onto a couch. He then allegedly jumped on top of the woman, holding her down by placing his forearm on her throat and face. Officers noticed the woman had redness on her neck consistent with having an arm placed across her neck.
A witness said they didn’t observe anything physical but could hear the woman calling for help.
The woman also showed officers a video of Freeze physically abusing her two days prior. The video shows Freeze yelling at the woman before lunging toward her. Footage showed the woman’s foot up in the air as Freeze knocked her over.
In regard to the video, Freeze told officers the woman had his keys and he dove toward her in an effort to retrieve them.
Freeze has a previous conviction for domestic battery in Elkhart County.
In this case, Freeze has already been arrested and released on bond.
