UPDATE: Two Injured In US 30 Accident

WARSAW – A teenager told police she fell asleep before her car traveled into the path of a semi-truck on US 30 early Sunday morning, Feb. 13.
Two people were injured in the accident at CR 150W and US 30 that happened around 12 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, according to a crash report by Warsaw Police.
Chloe Smith, 17, East Pierceton Road, Pierceton, said she had been headed south of Silveus Crossing and fell asleep as she entered the US 30 intersection. Her silver Nissan Sentra was struck on the passenger side by a Peterbilt semi-truck as it crossed the eastbound lanes of the highway.
Smith suffered a contusion to her head. A passenger in her car, Angel Gomez, 20, Warsaw, suffered some cuts. Both were taken by ambulance to hospitals in Fort Wayne.
The driver of the Peterbilt semi-truck, Brian Pilot, 62, Taylor Falls, Minn., was not injured.
The car sustained heavy damage. Total damages to both vehicles were estimated between $25,000 and $50,000.
