Watershed Photo Contest Highlights Beauty Of Lake Life
News Release
NORTH WEBSTER – The winning photos of The Watershed Foundation’s ‘Picture your Watershed’ photo contest have been announced and encapsulate the beauty, serenity and fun that our local lakes have to offer.
The 175 entries by 94 photographers were diverse and impressive. This was the tenth year of the annual contest and, according to the judges, the variety of subjects and unique perspectives that are submitted remain fresh and full of life.
The Peoples’ Choice Award winner “Frog on Big Chapman” was taken by Zachary Hight. This photo garnered the most public votes throughout the month of January.
Upon winning the Nature’s Studio category, Michael McGuire stated, “I love watching summer storms and Center Lake holds many childhood & adult memories for me; in this image they both aligned.”
The five winning photographs will be showcased throughout 2022 and the winning photographers win gift cards courtesy of Bart’s Watersports.
TWF was founded in 1997 to protect and improve water quality in the Upper Tippecanoe River Watershed; spanning from Crooked Lake in Whitley County to the Warsaw-Winona Lake areas. Over the past 25 years, TWF has worked with farmers and lake residents to construct 200+ water quality improvement projects. In the last six years alone, these efforts have prevented over 1 billion pounds of weeds and algae from growing in area lakes and streams.
