National Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Warning

WARSAW — The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Kosciusko County and surrounding areas.
The warning is in effect from 1 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3. Counties affected by this warning include Kosciusko, Wabash, Marshall, Fulton, Whitley, and Elkhart.
Heavy snow and dangerous travel are expected. Total snow accumulations will be in excess of 10 inches.
Travel will become very difficult to impossible. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will affect midweek commutes.
Rain will change to snow from northwest to southeast early Wednesday morning. This will be a long duration snow event, with periods of moderate to heavy snow and reduced visibilities.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
