WINONA LAKE — Laurie Renier has been appointed as clerk-treasurer in Winona Lake after the passing of Kent Adams.
A Kosciusko County Republican caucus chose Renier over two other residents on Monday night, Jan. 17.
She replaces Kent Adams who died unexpectedly on Dec. 19.
Kosciusko County Republican Chairman Mike Ragan made the announcement. Renier was chosen over Daniel Anderson and Paul DeRenzo by a three-person caucus made up of precinct committee people.
Renier has worked in the Winona Lake clerk-treasurer’s office since 2016. Prior to that, she worked for 28 years in Kosciusko County government.
Adams was 85 when he died and was in his third term as clerk-treasurer.
Renier said she wants to follow “Kent’s legacy.”
She pledged to work hard. “I always have and I always will,” she said.
