WARSAW — A Warsaw man who stabbed his wife repeatedly in the face, head and chest, has died.
Juan M. Ramirez Garcia, 52, Warsaw, pled guilty in November 2021 to a Level 1 felony attempted murder charge. Sentencing was initially set for Dec. 20, 2021, but was rescheduled to Jan. 17, 2022, per Ramirez Garcia’s request.
Court paperwork was filed in mid-December stating that Ramirez Garcia had fallen seriously ill and was being treated at a hospital. The State of Indiana filed a motion to amend a no-contact order on Dec. 15, 2021, allowing Ramirez Garcia’s daughter to briefly visit him in the hospital.
On Jan. 6, 2022, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Matt Buehler filed a motion requesting Kosciusko Circuit Court Judge Michael Reed dismiss the case due to Ramirez Garcia’s death. Judge Reed dismissed the case in its entirety.
Court paperwork did not specify Ramirez Garcia’s cause of death.
