Man Arrested After Officers Find 200 THC Cartridges

SYRACUSE — A man was arrested after admitting to possessing 200 cartridges of THC.
Kevin Matthew Michelini, 21, 5614 Old Dover Blvd., Fort Wayne, is charged with dealing in marijuana, a level 5 felony; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; and sentence enhancement dealing marijuana and sentence enhancement possession of marijuana, both level 6 felonies.
On Dec. 10, 2021, a Syracuse Police officer noticed a vehicle with a license plate that was not properly illuminated. The officer pulled the vehicle over and identified Michelini as a passenger.
According to court documents, while speaking with the vehicle’s driver, the officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver told the officer there wasn’t marijuana in the vehicle. Michelini said he had a THC smoking device inside the vehicle and a few THC cartridges.
While searching the vehicle, officers found 200 cartridges of THC, each containing one gram of THC; three smoking devices; a small amount of what appeared to be marijuana and $2,180 in cash.
Michelini said the THC cartridges, smoking devices, and marijuana belonged to him. He said the vehicle’s driver did not know anything about the THC cartridges and told officers he was attempting to take the cartridges back to his home.
Michelini has a prior conviction for dealing marijuana in Whitley County on June 23, 2021.
Michelini has already been arrested and released on bond. He has an initial hearing at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.
