Renier Files For WL Clerk-Treasurer

WINONA LAKE — A deputy clerk-treasurer in Winona Lake has filed paperwork to fill the role of her late boss, Kent Adams.
Laurie A. Renier has filed to serve as Winona Lake clerk-treasurer. If chosen for the role, she’d finish out Adams’ term, which ends on Dec. 31, 2023.
Adams, 85, was a longtime public servant and serving in his third term as clerk-treasurer whe he passed away after a brief illness on Dec. 19, 2021.
A GOP caucus to fill his replacement is set for 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at Winona Lake Town Hall. Deadline to file is Jan. 14.
In a news release, Renier provided some background on herself. She started working part-time in the clerk-treasurer’s office in 2016 and is now a full-time deputy clerk-treasurer. Prior to that, she worked in Kosciusko County government for 28 years.
She lives in Winona Lake with her husband, Gary, and two daughters, Olivia, 19, and Hilary, 14. She and her family are members of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
