WARSAW — Area health care workers got an early Christmas present on Thursday, Dec. 23.
The Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association put on a GLOW event outside Kosciusko Community Hospital to offer support to and prayers for the workers.
GLOW stands for Grateful for Laborers who Offer care for Wellness. Thursday’s event was the second such one, said organizers Warsaw Salvation Army Envoy Ken Locke and New Life Christian Church and World Outreach of Warsaw’s Pastor John Lowe II.
“It was right after COVID hit, we had the first one,” said Locke. “So we came and we prayed for the staff. With what’s going on now, we want to do it again. … Because the staff are getting hit pretty hard again with a lot of cases.”
“We just want them to feel encouraged that we’re here to pray for them, we appreciate what they do,” added Locke. “We’re blessed with good health staff in this county, so we just want to thank them, and there’s a lot of folks that are sick right now too.”
“We just want them to know they’re loved and appreciated,” said Lowe.
Those showing support stayed in their vehicles with their headlights on, aimed toward KCH. They also honked their horns several times to show support for the workers.
Several people, including Locke and Lowe, took turns praying for the workers.
Locke told InkFreeNews there might be another GLOW event in the future.
Lowe stated people should continue to pray for the workers.
“The only thing I would do is request the community to keep these folks in their prayer life,” he said.
