BREAKING: Threats Made At Wawasee High School

SYRACUSE — Wawasee High School underwent a lockdown, with students told to remain in their classrooms and to remain calm at 9:38 a.m. today, Friday, Dec. 17.
A notification was sent around 10:22 a.m. by school officials to families of students stating that a threat was made specifically toward Wawasee High School on Snapchat.
Officials report there has not been time to validate the credibility of the threat, but school officials are handling it with extreme caution. A number of law enforcement officials are at the school, helping with the students.
Wawasee High School students will be sent home today. Those students who can drive will be released to drive home on their own. Those who ride the bus will be able to ride the bus home as soon as buses are able to arrive.
Any parent or guardian who would like to pick up a student may do so. Those individuals should pull up to Door 6, the athletic entrance, where they will be greeted by a high school staff member at their vehicle. School officials are asking those who are picking up students to remain as orderly as possible while waiting. Students will be released in the safest manner possible.
