One Injured In SR 15 Crash

MILFORD — The driver of a Chevrolet Malibu LS was flown from the scene of a two-vehicle crash on SR 15, south of CR 800N south of Milford, with unknown injuries. He was flown by Lutheran Air Ambulance to a Fort Wayne Hospital.
The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15.
Traffic was stopped in both directions on SR 15 while emergency crews extricated the male driver of the vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle, a semitractor trailer owned by Schneider National Carriers, was not injured and signed off after being checked by paramedics.
According to the semitractor driver, he was northbound on SR 15 when the driver of the Chevrolet, crossed the centerline and struck the trailer shield and back dual wheels. The impact tore the exterior shell of the driver’s door off the Chevrolet and one of the outside dual tires, damaging both rims.
After impact, which appeared to be north of CR 800N, the Chevrolet continued southbound going into a field south of CR 800N.
Indiana State Police are investigating the crash, assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office. Also responding was Plain Township and Milford fire departments, Lutheran EMS and Tippecanoe Fire Territory EMS.
