Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:43 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, West Crystal Lake Road, west of North Brown Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Tammy J. Shively, 55, South SR 14, Akron. Shively’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 9:37 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, North CR 100E, south of East Wellington Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Rosa L. Rico, 47, East Lantern Road, Warsaw. Rico steered her vehicle to avoid a deer and her vehicle went off the roadway and hit a pole. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 3:25 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, East CR 1000N, west of North CR 700E, Syracuse. Driver: Tammy E. Streikus, 54, West CR 200N, Cromwell. Streikus was driving a Wawasee Community Schools bus. She looked back to tell a student to remain in their seat, which caused the bus to go off the roadway and hit a mailbox. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 1:06 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, North SR 13, north of CR 850N, Syracuse. Driver: Dominic L. Blair, 18, East CR 350N, Pierceton. Blair looked down at his stereo, causing his vehicle to leave the road and hit a sign and mailbox. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, US 30 east of North Parker Street, Warsaw. Driver: Dena S. Patel, 48, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Patel’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damage: Up to $2,500.
