Kosciusko County Offering Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccines On Tuesdays
News Release
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Health Department will set aside time on Tuesdays for pediatric vaccinations against COVID-19.
In a news release issued Friday, the health department said Kosciusko County continues to experience a high level of community transmission and significant hospitalization and death related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Kosciusko County Health Department immunization clinic will devote Tuesday clinics to pediatric COVID vaccine.
COVID-19 immunization is safe and effective, and the most robust means to put the pandemic in the rearview mirror. The recent approval of Pfizer’s pediatric-dosed COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11 is a wonderful addition to our available pandemic resources, the statement said.
The vaccine offers the opportunity to lessen the disease burden in our community and thus ultimately provide less disruption to families, schools, and holiday gatherings, the statement said.
Other facilities are also providing pediatric COVID-19 immunization. Finding a pediatric COVID-19 vaccine resource is easy and simple. Registration is available online at Ourshot.IN.gov or simply by phoning 211.
The Kosciusko County Health Department encourages ongoing mitigation steps such as social distancing, masking in indoor congregate gatherings, universal masking in schools, good hand hygiene and care with upcoming holiday planning.
The immunization clinic is at 1515 Provident Drive in Warsaw. To learn more, call 574-267-7028.
