Nominees Sought For Dam And Dike Conservancy’s First District Election

SYRACUSE — Nomination petitions are being sought for the first election of the Turkey Creek Dam and Dike Conservancy District. The seat for directorship in District 1 will be voted on during the 2022 annual meeting and will be for a full four-year term.
The annual meeting will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12. The meeting will be in the Syracuse Community Center.
The directorship for this district is currently held by John Earnest. District 1 includes Syracuse Lake and those properties adjoining the lake in Oakwood Park and Pickwick Park.
Any candidate for this position must be a freeholder from within the boundaries of District 1 and must be qualified by knowledge and experience in matters pertaining to the development of the conservancy district. The candidate may also be a nominee of a trust or a corporate freeholder.
Anyone interested in seeking this position must file a nominating petition at the office of the conservancy district, 11586 N. SR 13, Syracuse, before Dec. 1. The petition must be signed by at least five freeholders from that district. Nominating petitions that are mailed are valid if delivered or postmarked before Dec. 1.
