Jonathan Doerer hit a 48-yard field goal with 17 seconds left to help the Irish escape Blacksburg with another late win.

Kyren Williams scored a pair of touchdowns for the Irish (5-1), which trailed by eight points with 3:55 to go after Braxton Burmeister scored on a 19-yard run. Notre Dame marched down the field to tie it in 1:29, Avery Davis catching a touchdown pass from Jack Coan, and Coan hit Kevin Austin Jr. for the two-pointer to tie it.

Missouri 48, North Texas 35

The Tigers held off a pesky Mean Green in Columbia.

Missouri (3-3) had 217 yards rushing and three total scores from Tyler Badie, and Harrison Mevis was 2-2 in field goals and 6-6 in extra points, his longest kick 48 yards.

Ball State 45, Western Michigan 20

The Cardinals evened its mark at 3-3 with a win over NorthWood grad Trevor Andrews and his Bronco defense.

Drew Plitt threw for 310 yards and four touchdowns, two of them to Yo’Heinz Tyler, who had 93 yards receiving.
