WARSAW — A Warsaw home is “a total loss” following a fire, said Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory Chief Mike Wilson.
The fire was called out about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28. It happened at 647 Stag Drive.
Flames could be seen shooting out the top of the house.
“So we have a fire in a bathroom that spread pretty quick,” said Wilson. “It went through the ceiling of the bathroom into the attic pretty quick.”
He said the woman that lived there made it out safely.
None of the firefighters who responded were injured either, said Wilson. It took fire crews around half an hour to get the blaze under control.
“It’s going to be a total loss,” Wilson said.
WWFT was assisted at the scene by Winona Lake and Leesburg fire departments. Also responding were Warsaw and Winona Lake police departments, Lutheran EMS and NIPSCO.
The fire’s cause is still being investigated, he said.
