NorthWood 3, Northridge 0
It was a banner night for NorthWood’s defensive wizard in a sweep over Northridge.
Libero Macy Lengacher notched her 1,000th career dig in the 25-13, 26-24, 25-17 win over the visiting Raiders. Needing nine to hit the mark, Lengacher went ahead and started the push to 2,000 with 20 total digs on the night, and added a pair of assists to boot. Sophia Barber and Karis Bennett combined for 25 kills and Annika Bennett had 34 assists as the Panthers moved to 5-0 in the NLC, setting up a monster showdown with also NLC undefeated Warsaw next week in The Pit.
Tippecanoe Valley 3, Northfield 0
Valley also kept its unbeaten conference mark intact with a 25-17, 25-19, 25-21 win over the visiting Norse.
Valley moved to 6-0 on the season in the Three Rivers Conference to stay atop the standings. And before the match, defensive specialist Brayden Baney was ceremoniously honored with her 1,000th career dig, which she achieved earlier in the season against Manchester. Baney currently has 1,100 digs in her career.
In the matchup against the Norse, Macy Kirchenstien stood out with 17 assists, four aces and two blocks. Mallory Durkes led the offense with nine kills and Ava Smith was one behind at eight. Baney had 17 more digs and Erika Henderson chipped in 10 digs.
In the JV contest, Valley rallied to win 20-25, 25-18, 15-11. Maddie Thompson and Mackaylie Costello combined for seven kills, Karegan Callahan had eight digs, Avery Wagoner and Sidney Nelson each had seven digs and Nelson added two blocks.
