Syracuse Cub Scout Pack 3828 Dominates Cubmobile Races

SYRACUSE — Syracuse Cub Scout Pack No. 3828 owned the day at the Cubmobile Races Saturday, Sept. 18, in Warsaw. The Syracuse pack competed against other Cub Scout packs from the Lincolnway District of the Anthony Wayne Council of Scouts of America.
The Syracuse pack dominated the competition placing in each division. Nate Gillam captured first place in the heavyweight division with Trent Ritter placing first in the bantamweight division and Scotty Lyions holding second place in the featherweight category. The flyweight division was won by Nash Niles while Ryland Gregory captured first place in the middle weight division. Damien Thorn from the pack also participated.
Similar to a soap box derby car, a cubmobile is a gravity powered wooden race car built by the cub scouts with a rider that steers the unit.
Any boy or girl in grades kindergarten through fifth grade interested in joining Cub Scouts is invited to the Scout Woods, located at 10433 E. 500N, at 6 p.m. every Monday.
