North Webster Library Now Offering A Genealogy Course

NORTH WEBSTER—Have you been wanting to research the family ancestry, but don’t know where to begin? North Webster Community Public Library is offering a Beginning Genealogy Course that will help in gettting started. To accommodate working folks, this four-class course will be held in the evening at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26.
Students will learn the standards for genealogy, how to find information online and in libraries, courthouses and cemeteries; how to organize their research and much more. The course is free and a library card is not needed, but pre-registration is required to attend. Sign up at the circulation desk or call 574-834-7122.
Writer’s Corner this month challenges readers to channel an inner detective and write about solving a crime. The group will be sharing their detective stories 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27. If you enjoy writing, join Writer’s Corner the fourth Monday each month to share ideas, techniques and encouragement as each month includes writing about different topics.
Challenge your preschooler with the love of learning at Preschool Story Time 10:30 a.m. every Wednesday, Sept. 29 through Nov. 24. Children, ages three to six, have fun learning through stories, activities and interacting with others. It also gives parents the opportunity to network with other parents.
Treat the whole family to a free night at the movies 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 when the library shows an animated Disney classic about a centuplicate of spotted puppies who are rescued from being made into fur coats by a cruel villain. The movie is rated G and runs 80 minutes. Free snacks included.
